DENVER – Linebacker Antonio Pierce traveled to Los Angeles on Wednesday to meet with Dr. Robert Watkins, a specialist who took a look at the bulging disc in Pierce's neck. Watkins diagnosis was the same as the Giants medical experts, meaning the first step for Pierce is to rest and see if the disc shrinks on its own. Surgery is an option at a later date depending on how the disc responds. Full Story |

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Most players try to downplay facing off against their former team and teammates. Michael Boley is obviously not one of them. Boley was basically demoted by the Falcons staff for no apparent reason last season and still hasn’t forgotten about it – or stopped using it as motivation. It clearly showed during New York’s thrilling overtime victory over Atlanta. Full Story

Say what you will about how Antonio Pierce has played of late. But there’s no doubt that his absence will certainly have an adverse effect on New York’s defense. Full Story

The work of the front office and personnel people is ongoing. They don’t have the luxury of sitting back and enjoying the season. Scouting is like the tide, it just keeps on rolling. It’s funny how things change. At 5-0 things looked great. No major holes to fill. Three losses later and things look a little different. Full Story

The sight of last week’s leading rusher in a protective boot on Wednesday was surely a scary one. However, Ahmad Bradshaw, who did not practice on Wednesday because of injuries to his ankle and foot, and Coach Tom Coughlin, both said there was nothing at all to worry about. Full Story

Eight players who started for the Giants in Super Bowl XLII are no longer with the team. Rapid turnover has long been the way of the NFL. Teams either reload intelligently or fail miserably. Full Story

Chase Blackburn appears to have the edge on the starting weak side linebacker task for Sunday. While many expected Bryan Kehl to fill in for Michael Boley, who is suspended for this game, the do-everything Blackburn looks to be the starter at WLB. Full Story

As the Giants ready for their season-opener Sunday against Washington at Giants Stadium, they do so with about as untested a wide receiver corps as possible. Once it became apparent very early this offseason that New York would be without both regular starters – Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer – the race was on to see who would and could replace them. For every Giants-related question I received since the start of this offseason, I received two others regarding strictly the wide receivers. And it’s justified. Taking two starters off a Super Bowl-caliber roster and failing to replace them with any big names (i.e. Braylon Edwards) understandably has many Giants fans up in arms. Full Story

The Giants lost almost 13 feet of receivers from last year. Gone are enormous targets Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer and in their place are a starting tandem of Domenik Hixon and Steve Smith that stand 6-2 and 5-11, respectively. Yeah, it’s safe to say that the Giants offensive game plan, especially in the passing game, has already undergone some significant changes. Full Story

Yes, Giants fans, it’s that time of year again – already. Big Blue will spend the month of August up in Albany preparing to defend its 2008 NFC East crown. While the one-and-done playoff experience last season left a bad taste in the players’ mouths, this is also a team only two years removed from Super Bowl glory. Full Story

The Washington Redskins offered Jason Taylor a raise. Taylor already was scheduled to make an $8 million salary and a $500,000 roster bonus in 2009. The Redskins were happy to pay him that money on one condition-that he accept another half a million dollars in exchange for about 27 days of additional word duty. Taylor refused and, as a result, he was fired. Full Story
