Joseph makes No. 24

Boaz Joseph

Update: 12:15 PM CT - Nebraska picked up their 24th commitment in the 2013 class on Wednesday.

Nebraska picked up their 24th commitment in the 2013 class on Wednesday, when Cypress Bay cornerback Boaz Joseph committed to Terry Joseph and the Huskers.

"He committed about an hour ago. We were very excited for him," Cypress Bay head coach Mark Guandolo told FOX Sports NEXT National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Newberg. "Had a great visit last weekend on his official. He liked the players and the coaching staff when he was there. He loved the fact that football is so important to the University."

Joseph is a three-star prospect and the No. 120 corner in the nation according to FOX Sports NEXT.

His finalist included Kentucky and Louisville, but schools like Georgia, Memphis, Purdue, Rutgers, Wisconsin, and Missouri all offered the senior.

"He's a big physical cornerback. He's almost 6-foot-2 and weighs 200 pounds. He runs 4.4," said Guandolo. "He's got the size and is physical. He's a positive football player and a hard worker who loves the game."

So what is Newberg's take on Joseph?

"He could very well end up playing safety, but could also cover from the position," said Newberg. "In today's game, safeties have to cover more than anytime because it's evolved into a passing game."

Joseph gives Nebraska four commitments from the state of Florida, something Newberg has also noticed.

"It's obviously not a school you hear quite a lot from in the state, but that's changed this year," said Newberg. "That will certainly help them as they start to establish a network for future years to come. It's a good sign."
