Laster, 6-foot-2, 220-pounds, played wide receiver, tight end and linebacker for his school, but he is being recruited to play defense at Minnesota.
"I have committed to Minnesota," Laster stated Sunday evening. "It's a great fit for me, and they told me I have the chance to play early at Minnesota. I loved the coaching staff, and heard so many great things about Coach (Jerry) Kill from everyone."
"I called some of the schools that were recruiting me to thank them, and let them know I was going to Minnesota, and all of them congratulated me and spoke highly of Coach Kill," he added. "My dad was impressed with the school too, and that meant a lot to me as well. They are recruiting me as a linebacker, which is fine with me. I'm totally comfortable with my choice, and I'm excited to be a part of their program."
