Nick Miles, a sophomore defensive end on the Ball State football team, has been selected as the Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week.

Miles led Ball State's defense with 11 total tackles and one sack in the Cardinals 34-27 win over No. 23/25 Toledo at the Glass Bowl Nov. 6.

Miles was a key part of the defense that forced two three-and-outs and two turnovers on downs on Toledo's six second-half possessions.

With the victory, the Cardinals improved to 7-3 overall nd 4-2 in the MAC. Ball State will host Ohio Wednesday at Scheumann Stadium and then conclude the regular season with a game at Miami University Nov. 23.
