L.A. Pierce QB Nick Arbuckle

(11/7/2012) A look at some of the top quarterback performances over the past week and which players are standing out for their team. This is by no means all-inclusive, but just a snapshot of some of the players who had big-time performances over the weekend...

L.A. Pierce QB Nick Arbuckle - Arbuckle and the Brahmas lost to Santa Monica 50-47, but the freshman signal-caller hit on 43 of his 77 attempts for 631 yards and six touchdowns with three interceptions. For the season, he has hit on 66.1% of his passes for 3,028 yards with 33 touchdowns and 12 picks.


Santa Monica QB Alfonso Medina - While he didn't put up the huge numbers that Arbuckle did, Medina still came out with a 50-47 win as he completed 22 of his 38 attempts for 379 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions of his own. The sophomore has had a great season for the Corsairs, completing 56.5% of his passes for 2,094 yards with 25 touchdowns and five picks.


Saddleback QB Tim Belman - Belman led the Gauchos to a 66-42 win over Grossmont last week by going 35 of 50 for 475 yards, six touchdowns and one pick. The freshman quarterback has been outstanding for Saddleback this season completing 61.2% of his passes for 2,455 yards with 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.


College of the Canyons QB Ryan Kasdorf - Kasdorf went 22 of 31 for 357 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions in the Cougars' 38-36 win over Cerritos. The freshman gun-slinger has had a solid 2012 season completing 58.0% of his passes for 2,499 yards with 18 touchdowns and 11 picks.


DeAnza QB Josh McCain - In DeAnza's 46-43 win over College of San Mateo, McCain threw for 326 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. The sophomore has thrown for 2,441 yards, 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while leading the Dons to a 7-2 record.


College of the Sequoias QB Tyler Ferguson - The freshman went 19 of 35 for 330 yards with three touchdowns and an interception, but the Giants still lost 31-27 to American River. Ferguson has completed 56.3% yards with 2,489 yards with 22 touchdowns and 11 picks.


American River QB Mike Hicks - Hicks, a freshman, filled in for Jonathan Kodama last week, going 18 of 30 for 305 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions as the Beavers outlasted COS 31-27.


Modesto QB TeeJay Gordon - Gordon completed 22 of his 34 attempts for 395 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions while rushing for 87 yards and another score, but his efforts fell short as the Pirates lost to Fresno City 52-42. The freshman has completed 64.2% of his attempts for 2,475 yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions while also rushing for nearly 250 yards and four scores.


Copiah-Lincoln QB Chandler Rogers - The sophomore quarterback led Co-Lin to a thrilling 47-46 over East Mississippi by completing 16 of his 28 attempts for 323 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. While leading the Wolfpack to an 8-2 record, Rogers has completed 60.4% of his passes for 2,387 yards with 22 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.


East Mississippi QB Quez Johnson - Johnson had a monster game in EMCC's 47-46 loss to Copiah-Lincoln as he went 40 of 57 for 455 yards and two touchdowns. The freshman has been stellar for the Lions this season completing 58.8% of his passes for 2,805 yards with 27 touchdowns and nine interceptions while rushing for 540 yards and 12 touchdowns.


Dean QB Malik Bush - In Dean's 24-11 win over Lackawanna, the freshman threw for 288 yards, three touchdowns and an interception while going 18 of 28 on the day.


Snow QB Christian Stewart - Stewart threw for 361 yards and three touchdowns in Snow's 45-0 win over Phoenix last week. The sophomore quarterback has completed 51.4% of his passes for 2,407 yards with 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
